At the Faculty of Orthodox Theology "ILARION V. FELEA" within the University "AUREL VLAICU" from Arad, will take place, with the blessing of His Eminence Dr. TIMOTEI, Archbishop of Arad, between October 30 and October 31, 2018, National Symposium: Romanian Orthodox Church and the Great Union from 1918. The contribution of Arad Theology.

The symposium is part of the series of scientific and cultural events of the faculty, dedicated to the Centenary of the Great Union of December 1, 1918. It is part of the series of events organized in our faculty on the occasion of "Homage to the Faith and Nation The Great Union of 1918” in the Romanian Patriarchate.

The theological school in Arad, in the context of Hungarian rule, had a significant role in affirming the Orthodox faith, the unity of the Romanian people and culture, remaining throughout history, in a constructive collaboration with the theological Sibiu and the other Academies of Theology in Transylvania. . At the same time, the theology of Arad had a major role in the development of the Romanian theological education. It offered not only a competitive model of education, compared to the other denominational forms of theological education in Transylvania, but also theology teachers and graduates of other Orthodox institutions that were established over time in the Principality.
