The workbook ADVANCED ENGLISH GRAMMAR PRACTICE. THE VERB PHRASE proposes a practical approach to the most important theoretical notions specific to the verb phrase in English.
Having a harmonized structure, the book is designed for the activity carried out during the seminar classes and for self-study, as well. In the eight chapters, the authors present, in a logical sequence, a vast repertoire of practice activities and tasks created with a view to consolidating the theoretical knowledge. Thus, chapter 1 is dedicated to multi-word verbs, chapter 2 contains exercises on the verbs not normally used in the continuous aspect, chapter 3 includes practice activities on the tenses of the Indicative Mood, chapter 4 focuses on the passive voice, chapter 5 approaches the Subjunctive Mood, Chapter 6 deals with the Imperative Mood, chapter 7 consists of exercises on modal verbs, and Chapter 8 addresses the non-finite forms of the verb, namely the Infinitive, the Gerund and the Participle. In addition, the revision exercises at the end of Chapters 3, 5, 7 and 8 facilitate students to reinforce and/or test their level of understanding and use of the concepts related to the verb phrase.
