This dictionary brings together words, expressions and phrases used in Oltenian dialects, without claiming to have exhausted the lexical richness specific to this regional variant of Daco-Romanian. An important element in knowing the pronunciation is the accent, which has been noted, except for monosyllabic words or words for which the attestations did not specify the accent. The homograph words have been marked with a number, but if the differentiation is marked by an accent, they have been recorded as title words. The meaning is indicated by literary synonyms and / or expressions that cover the meaning of the word, and if in the definition certain existing regionalisms were used in the dictionary, they were marked by writing in italics. Taking into account previously printed glossaries and dictionaries, this dictionary is intended to be a work of general use, useful for all those passionate about the study of regionalisms, but also a working tool for pupils, students and teachers.
