This volume consists of seven essays, namely: 1. Structures of discreteness – Horistology without formulas; 2. Life between difficulty and hope; 3. Analyzing the notions of difficulty and hope; 4. Subjective view of space-time; 5. Difficulty and hope in relativist living systems; 6. I believe what I am; 7. Postscript – reactions to “I believe what I am”.

The author’s purpose is to complete several ideas from his former monograph “Complements of Hyperbolic Mathematics – from Super-additivity to Structural Discreteness” (Editura Universitaria, 2016) in a more accessible, non-strictly mathematical form. A simple language, based on the notions of difficulty and hope, points up a parallel between mathematical structures of discreteness, foundation of the restrained theory of relativity and homeostasis in living systems.

Being a popularization book, it suggests how to recognize that the reversed rule of a triangle (called super-additivity and noted S.a.) acts in the real world. Very strange indeed, initially named clock’s paradox in relativity), this rule still realizes in plenty of everyday practices.

The last two essays reveal the author’s attempts of self-knowledge. Based on his own convictions and a large bibliography, he justifies the existence of a unique God, but differently represented from religions up to sciences. An original mathematical argument is the (horistological) incompleteness of our universe of events.
