This volume, Inter- and Transdisciplinary Studies in Doctoral Research, Proceedings of the National Colloquium of the “Alexandru Piru” Doctoral School, 2nd edition, Craiova, 2018, includes the scientific contributions of young PhD students, presented at the second edition of the above-mentioned National Colloquium. The 49 contributors represent the doctoral schools from 7 universities: University of Bucharest (13), “Ovidius” University – Constanța (2), University of Craiova (28), “Lucian Blaga” University – Sibiu (3), Babes-Bolyai University (1), “Dunărea de Jos” University – Galați (1), “A. I. Cuza” University – Iași (1). The thematic structure of the papers published in this volume follows the sections of the scientific event: literature (23 papers), linguistics and communication (22 papers), and anthropology and cultural studies (4). The writing languages of these scientific contributions included in the present volume are Romanian (27), French (12), English (7), German (2), Italian (1). The annual organization of the National Colloquium of “Alexandru Piru” Doctoral School provides the framework for asserting new trends in philological doctoral research, but also for training and strengthening transversal skills that future researchers – trained in the spirit of academic performance –, will apply directly in their activity.
