The volume Tradition and Continuity. Under the Sign of Liber Pater represents the materialization of the communications held at the National Conference Tradition and Continuity, 2nd edition, Craiova, October 19-20, 2018. Taking place under the auspices of Liber Pater, the Roman god of viticulture, fertility and freedom, the conference began with a round table – designed to offer interdisciplinary perspectives on the cultural representations of wine. The conference brought together prestigious scientific personalities from the University of Craiova, from the country and abroad: Prof.univ.dr. Laurent Gautier –Université de Bourgogne, Prof. univ. dr. Alexandru Gafton  – „Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University (Iași), Prof. univ.dr.h.c. Eugen Negrici – University of Bucharest. Also, the „Alexandru Piru” Doctoral School hosted a special section for doctoral students – which is reflected in the structure of the volume. It includes three sections: Speeches by special guests of the Conference (Alexandru Gafton from the University „A.I. Cuza” in Iasi, Eugen Negrici from the University of Bucharest, Nicolae Giugea, Cristian Nedelcu, Nicolae Panea from the University of Craiova), Section of Communications presented by the university colleagues, all the articles being subsumed to the generous theme of the volume, and Section II, dedicated to the communications of the Doctoral School.
