The book entitled Translation Strategies and Procedures – far from being a guide, a method or a manual for the translator – is an attempt to distinguish between two notions often confused and considered to be one and the same thing – respectively, translation strategies and procedures. I have also tried to discuss the latest theories regarding the criteria taken into account by specialists for their differentiation, depending on several parameters – objective (cognitive factors) and subjective (related to the individual characteristics of the translator).
