Egiptul creştin. Pe urmele pruncului Iisus

Lucrarea de față, intitulată Egiptul creștin. Pe urmele Pruncului Iisus, se înscrie într-un demers de redescoperire a unei dimensiuni esențiale a creștinismului primar: prezența mântuitoare a lui Pruncului Iisus în Egipt. Lucrarea propune o sinteză între mărturia tradiției copte, izvoarele istorice și memoria vie a Bisericii care s-a născut și a crescut în jurul acestei teofanii a Pruncului dumnezeiesc.

Cartea de față urmează acest itinerar sacru, punând în lumină nu doar tradițiile locale și mărturiile arheologice, ci și spiritualitatea specifică Bisericii copte, în care cultul Sfintei Familii și teologia întrupării se împletesc într-o continuitate vie. În acest sens, Egiptul devine nu doar un refugiu istoric, ci un spațiu al revelării, locul unde Pruncul Iisus a fost primit și ocrotit de oameni simpli, iar pământul însuși a fost atins de pașii Lui.

Lucrarea oferă cititorului român o perspectivă asupra rădăcinilor comune ale creștinismului răsăritean, asupra modului în care tradiția coptă a păstrat, prin veacuri de persecuții și suferință, o credință neclintită în Hristos.

The volume Christian Egypt. In the Footsteps of the Infant Jesus, is part of an endeavor to rediscover an essential dimension of early Christianity: the saving presence of the Infant Jesus in Egypt. The study proposes a synthesis of the testimony of the Coptic tradition, historical sources, and the living memory of the Church that was born and grew around this theophany of the Divine Child.

The present book follows this sacred itinerary, highlighting not only local traditions and archaeological evidence, but also the distinctive spirituality of the Coptic Church, in which devotion to the Holy Family and the theology of the Incarnation are intertwined in a living continuity. In this sense, Egypt becomes not merely a historical refuge, but a place of divine revelation, the land where the Infant Jesus was welcomed and protected by humble people, and where the very soil was touched by His footsteps.

This work offers Romanian readers an insight into the common roots of Eastern Christianity and into the way the Coptic tradition has preserved, through centuries of persecution and suffering, an unwavering faith in Christ.
