The aim of this study is to offer a comparative and alternative analysis between the most important Romantics of English literature and the echoes they had in the sphere of Pre-Romanticism and Romanticism, both in Romanian and European culture. We set out to demonstrate, through viable examples and through the thorough study of both literatures, those points that bring Romanian literature, especially the poetry of the Pre-Romantic and Romantic periods, closer to the poetry of the great English Romantics: Byron, Shelley and Keats. Comparative literature is, in itself, both difficult and exhaustible, therefore, comparative interpretations leave room for long debates on the same topic, as form and content or central idea, which uses examples from English literature to understand and explain that note of resemblance or differentiation from Romanian literature.
