Father Dumitru Stăniloae is part of the constellation of great personalities of Romanian and universal Christian theology, culture and philosophy who managed to create a system of thought and religious life of unparalleled depth. Considered by Heidegger – according to the testimony of the academician Zoe Dumitrescu-Bușulenga – “the second Christian thinker” of the twentieth century (subjective remark of the philosopher, reserving for himself the first place) and characterized by the great theologians of the time as one of the honourable representatives of Christian theology, Father Stăniloae is the theologian who manages to create the deepest framework for debating theological ideas in the vast complex of biblical, patristic vision, as well as contemporary theology, philosophy and culture.
