The connections between literature, philosophy and religion are here highlighted, on the background of the interdiscursivity proper to comparative studies. The studies included in this volume can prove useful for all the readers interested in the canon of world literature, by attempting to shed new light on a number of classical and modern literary works and by arguing that they are very relevant for today's readership. Not least, older and newer theoretical accounts are reassessed and put to test through a close reading analysis of a corpus of texts which have not yet exhausted their expressive force, even in the contemporary period.
