Description
The 22 texts put together, published between 1998 and 2018, are a testimony to personal epistemological choices in the confrontation between modernism and postmodernism, between structuralism and poststructuralism, between literary and cultural, between science and the "fog of verbiage".
For today's reader, they are of particular relevance because:
a) corrects stereotypes circulated in critical and didactic discourse, which have eroded and made canonical authors passive;
b) they bring to the fore recent texts, either little known, superficially or incorrectly analyzed, or ignored; ;
c) intertextuality and complex interdisciplinarity account for less obvious or insufficiently highlighted semantic layers, thus reinvigorating the interconnected fabric of the books.
For relief, I preferred to structure the volume by genres and discursive practices, namely poetic, narrative, journalistic and political discourse, memoiristic and scientific, followed by the appropriate scientific perspectives. Although each analysis is preliminarily placed under the corresponding theoretical sky, the procedure is inductive – the text selects its method and not (just) the other way around.
The volume proposes new dimensions and re-dimensions the theory-literary analysis relationship through integrated critical thinking. Although there are sociological, cultural, and political references, extraliterary references remain, contrary to the culturalist approach, peripheral. We are convinced that the interpretation of literature should remain as such: a construct perceptible as specificity, as difference. And the sciences of the text, invoked here as flexible and systematically articulated points of view, amplify its resonance and illuminate its depth.
